I would pay $1000 difference if it meant buying the Browning over the 700 SPS. I handled the SPS and the bolt on that rifle was no comparison to the X-Bolt. The X-bolt I cycled was as smooth as my A-Bolt as I expected.

I look forward to getting an X Bolt in the near future. I just haven't really decided on what caliber to get yet. I like the plastic magazine myself, though I haven't had a whole lot of time to play with them at the store. Browning sure does make some beautiful and very mechanically sound rifles, that is for sure.

Just picked up an X-Bolt composite stalker in 300 win mag. Haven't shot it yet but if its anything like shooting my 270 A-Bolt, recoil aside, I think I will be more than impressed.

I just bought a NIB Browning X-Bolt Hunter in 270 Win off Gunbroker this past week. Supposed to pick it up Tuesday from my FFL. Can't wait to get it....I have a set of DNZ Game Reapers and a Bushnell Elite 4200 ready to go on it.

Took my 300 out to sight in, and I am very impressed with the gun. The inflex recoil pad does what its supposed to do which made the gun very comfortable to shoot. And after tuning the scope, 3/4" 3 shot groups at 100 yards, might get smaller after the barrel is broke in.

I have the Browning A-Bolt micro Medalian in .308 as well as an A-Bolt in .22LR. It's a nice pair to have cause I can shoot alot with the .22 and the .308 feels about the same to shoulder ect so the .22 makes for a good cheap practice weapon.

Question though..I thought the A-Bolt refered to short stroke required to chamber another round. Does the X-Bolt have even less stroke/throw length than the A-Bolt??

X-bolt refers to the 4 screw holes for the scope mounting, forming an "X".

I wish browning would make a nicer synthetic stock, particularly for their A-bolt Titanium, their black/synthetic seems like that milk jugg material, just cheap/plasticy, there are plenty of nice synthetics out there, why don't they stock their rifles with one...
