T/C Encore Pro Hunter questions

Well....income tax money is almost in and I'm itching for a new toy. I almost never get a Saturday off working retail, but last week was an exception. The weather was lousy, so I sat in front of the TV and watched the Outdoor Network all day.
Show after show, guys were using the T/C Pro Hunter. Now I understand that T/C has to get in their advertising and lots of those hunts may not have been with the Pro Hunter.... but it's a pretty sharp looking rifle with lots of versitility.

Does anyone have first hand experience with one as far as strength, durability, accuracy, ect.????

Also....does the stock design seem to increase or decreasefelt recoil from some of the hotter cartridges?

My local Gander Mountain has a T/C Pro Hunter with a HD Camo stock and 28" Stainless Fluted barrel in .300 Win. Mag. that's making me drool.....

Any info would be greatly appreciated

school I was in the same boat as you. I went looking last saturday also.I looked at a pro hunter It seemed built very well and solid, but i did'nt like it,the weight is all in the trigger back kind of bad handling.I got a Remington CDL-SF in a 257 Wby Mag and love it

I own a Prohunter and I love it. I bought it with the 50cal.....but soon after bought another barrel(300win). Easy interchanging and dead on everytime.
If you only want a rifle check out the browning or weatherby. As its nice to have options with that second shot. If a single shot is o.k. as it is for me check out an Ruger #1.......very sweet

RE: T/C Encore Pro Hunter questions

Schoolcraft,

I own several barrels fot the T/C Encore, all of which are accurate. The only downside to the Encore that I see is the fact that it's a single shot. My brother changed his stocks to the Pro Hunter stock and the recoil is much less than with the regular Encore stock. His gun is also a .300 Win. Mag. and he loves it. I am not sure what you will be hunting but if youwant a gun that is accurate, strong and versitile, the Pro Hunter would be a good choice.
