I agree. You WILL NOT touch that scope on ebay for $400. Its a Vari-X III 8.5-25. I'm guessing retail its $800, so you could honestly pick one up for $700 on ebay.
The higher the magnification, the price sky rockets. Heck you won't get a 6.5-20 vari-x III on ebay for $400, I know I bought one on ebay, watched them for a long time.
You MIGHT get a 4.5-14 for that, if it is the right one. Now a 3.5-10 you should easily be able to get for $400. The magnification makes all the difference.
So, seeings how it is an $800 scope and his last offer was $1100 for the whole rig. I would say its fairly priced.
