Ruger 10/22 mag quick-release

Just bought a Sporter this weekend and was quickly reminded about how much a pain in the ass the magazine release is.
I'm wanting to put a quick release on it but asking for everyones opinion if they have installed one on their Ruger.

Simple to install. One pin out, remove the factory mag release, put new one in place and slide pin back in....done.
They range in price from less than $5 to well over $40......depends on what you want. If its just convinience then the cheaper ones work just fine. Handcrafted ones made of sterling silver flatware cost a buck or two more.

Just get the Butler Creek 1 for about 4.00$. If you REALLY want a cool 1, check this 1 out.- http://www.midwayusa.com/eproductpag...eitemid=596824 I have 1 on 1 of my 10/22s are it's VERY fast to use. The only problem is catching them in stock.

I was wanting one in blue steel and although I like the one you linked to at Midway, I think that goes back a bit much for me.
I like how this one looks on the gun but I'm not sure what it's made out of (I've sent a message to the seller) and the buyer don't take paypal so that's going to slow down getting it quickly.

That 1 is plastic. It's still plenty good enough for your 10/22 though. Check out this release. http://www.midwayusa.com/eproductpag...eitemid=636211

Well I ended up finding a guy on eBay that sells steel ones with matte black finish for $15/free shipping.
Installed like champ and works perfect.
Good investment.

Here is the pic of it. The bottom two are the originals at both angles.
The top two are the new extended at both angles.
