Take a look at CZ. The CZ452 is reasonably priced and very accurate. I have a CZ453 Varmint, probably more than you need but I'll never need another 22 bolt action unless I start shooting matches again.

Just for the record!
I shoot Rugers(alot and mostly)!
I know it is a shock, but true!
I suggest you get a rifle similar to your deer hunting rig? I other words I shoot a Ruger 77 MKII 22 and 243, 270, 7mm 08, 7mm Mag, ect. If I pick up one gun the other is the same, maybe small frame but all the features are in the same place. Just food for thought in advance?

Now I have several lever actions (Marlins) as well and it cost me a nice plump doe this last Indiana deer season. I forgot to let off the cross bolt safety, so the 41 mag rifle "went snap"
But I just laughed at myself and enjoyed the rest of the season...

Especially if you are on a budget. Choose the same make of rifle and practice is cheaper too!!

Hope this helps you decide?

I love Ruger's but you cant beat CZ for the money.I only wish it had a rotary mag like the Ruger.I hate the look of those mags protruding out the bottom of the stock ruining the guns lines.

WTF is your problem? I asked if no one likes the 77/22, I was defending it, not knocking it.

I had a Savage Mark II for a while. It wasn't a bad rifle at all after I installed an aftermarket trigger in it. The newer models come from the factory with a lot better trigger than they used to have. I now have a CZ 452, in my opinion the CZ is a much nicer gun as far as fit and finish goes. I also like the real walnut stocks. If you plan on installing a scope, I would opt for the American stock instead of the European stock if you decide on a CZ. As far as accurracy, that is a toss up. Both rifles are capable of pretty impressive groups.
