870 express super mag vs, mossberg 835
 

I want to buy a turkey gun but I also want to be able to get a rifled slug barrell that you can mount a scope on. Anybody have this combination in either the 870 express super mag or the mossberg 835. Give any opinions on how you like yours and which you would pick. thanks

IMHO for the price you can't beat the 835. I have one in the black parkerized finish. It's a very reliable gun. I was a diehard Rem fan until I got the 835 as a gift. I'd buy another one in a heart beat!

870!!! no doubt !!spend the little extra for a better quality gun. mossberg rattles ,i would have one.

Newsflash, the only pump shotgun I ever handled that didn't rattle was a Remington 870 the the slide was jammed.

You might want to do a search on Mossberg's. We descussed this about a week ago. People seems to either love Mossberg's or hate them, I am personally the latter. However, although I know some people hate the Remingtons it seems to be far less than those that hate Mossberg's. But to each his own.

You can't go wrong with an 870.They are the most reliable shotgun I have seen.

If your looking for strickly a turkey gun, either will do if you set them up right. However, if you rlooking for the better all around gun, the 870 is by far a better gun. Mossbergs do rattle after a while and feel kinda cheap, but for turkey hunting, you're not burning up several boxes of shells. I personally, use an 870 espress mag.

I have been hunting with the 870 super mag for the past 2 years. After I filled the stock with expanding foam insulation, (to get rid of the drum sound) I haven't used my Browning bps or Remington wingmaster since. Makes a perfect gun for goose pits.

Mossbergs are just too damn cheaply made for me. I had an 835 and sold it last summer after one season. It felt like the gun was going to fall apart in my hands. I have been thinking about getting an 870 Super, but am looking into a singleshot, too.

Remington 870 No question. Ive used em and Ive got a mooseberg and I hate it. It does make a good beater gun in barn though. My remingtons work great!

i have both and like them both i think the 835 gives a better patterm for turkey hunting
