FS or FT: Savage 99 (Pics Added) SPF!

I have a Savage Model 99 in pristine condition for sale. Caliber is .308. The only problem I can see with this rifle is a small brass emblem installed on the under side of the stock. You can't see it without turning the rifle over. It has the original owners initial on it.24" barrel with open sights, brass counter, hand checkered butt stock and schnabel forend. There weren't many bullets put down the barrel and the condition shows it. I'd say it's a solid 98%.

I'll listen to offers of cash or trade for heavy barreled type rifles for varminting or long range shooting. Will also consider a range finder and spotting scope.

PM with questions or offers.
Thanks

Also found what appears to be some original documentation for the rifle. A small envelope from Savage with the model No (EG) and caliber stamped on the outside and a parts diagram with factory prices on the inside. May have hung from the gun when new.

$650 plus shipping conus

That is really a nice rifle, brother. With the manuals, and stuff, even with the owners initials in the stock, that is a good price for a 99 in that kind of condition. Really nice rifle.

Thanks UMD. I don't know a darned thing about these rifles or their values, but it sure is a nice rifle. Hopefully it goes to a good home.

They are fine rifles. My cousin has one that was given to him in 308 win caliber and it will shoot 1-1/2" groups at 200 yards. The rotary box magazine is similar to the one in a Ruger 10-22 except it's not removable. It also has a little brass round counter in the side of the reciever. Personally, I don't like the way it carries compared to my Marlin 336, but I'd sacrifice a little comfort for that kind of accuracy.
