Tikka T3 or remington700 in .243
I was going to buy the Tikka until I went into a chain dept. store today and saw the Rem. 700 with a 3-9 scope on it for $477 plus a $50 rebate.I know the scope isn't the best,POS to be honest with you.
My question is how do the 2 guns compare with one another?
I owned a Rem. Sportsman in 30 .06,never had a problem with it and it was accurate too boot!
Please give me your opinions,thanks.

I use 700 actions to build my rifles, but as far as factory rifles go,the T-3s that I have fired have been on average, slightly more accurate than the recent factory 700s that I have fired.I also prefer the trigger on the T-3.

Buy the Remington and get a $35 dollar trigger job and you will have a heck of a shooter. Put the cheap scope on a 22 and you will like it just fine. If you choose the Tika you will be fine as well. I'm just a Remington fanatic!

I found the trigger on the T-3 much better as adjusted from the factory, and slightly crisper after adjusting both myself.Accuracy wise, the difference was slight, the T-3s probably averaged 1/8" to 1/4" smaller groups than the 700s,and they were less fussy about loads as well.

If I was never going to modify either rifle,I might go with the T-3.However,if I had any intention of ever changing the stock or modifying the gun,I would go with a 700.You really can't go wrong with either rifle.
