Your elk rifle?
#21

I have a Sako L691 in 300 WBY with a 4.5-14X Leupold Vari-X III that I got fourteen years ago with the express intent of using for Elk. Unfortunately, I haven't been elk hunting since I got that rifle.

Another wannabe here.If the new Hawkeye in .280 shoots as well as I hope I'd probably choose it over my old M-77 in 7x57 but I'd be happy using either.I think something like a Nosler partition around 165 or 175grs would be the way to go.

Just for grins I tallied the calibers
.270.....1
7mm.....4
.30.......17
.325......1
.338......3
From the folks I've hunted with the rifles range from .270 to .375 H&H.....the most used caliber however is the .30 caliber and between the .30-06 and a few .300 magnums most of them are found.
