Yea, I did too,I just hope those who didn't will cowboy up and join the NRA and try and redeme themselves!
Just think $35 is all it takes to add to the #s, and that is all that will matter for the next 4 years, if not forever!
The price of a 20 roundbox of ammo will get you a years membership with your choice of the American hunter, or American Rifleman magazine and many other benifits, can you afford not to support the NRA?
That is what my name stands for (for the nra).

I have taken deer, moose, caribou, black bears with the .308 and it performs exactly like a .3006. The people who think the .3006 is "so" much better likely have no experience with it in the feild. The small difference in velocity is sometimes non existant in factory loads as 06 loads are notoriously underloaded to avoid blowing up old military rifles and the inevitable lawsuits. You can hunt anything up to but excluding the large bears with a .308.

I'm thinking of buying a Tikka 308. I've never shot a 308 but I want something I can hunt Yotes with with its not deer season but hunt deer with also. I know ammo is very easy to come by. Whats all of your thoughts?
Well, you pretty much have nailed it. The .308 will work just fine on Coyotes and other vermin (with the proper bullet choice) and extremely well on deer sized game. Ammo isvery easy to come by and it's an inherently accurate round.

I own a lot of rifles.....a lot, and the .308 is one of my favorites and stillmy "go to rifle" for most of my rifle hunting. Sure there are many other calibers out there that will do the job just as good (if not better)but when you take all of the other variables into consideration the .308 is hard to beat.

Good luck with your choice.

i don't know if it's the best or not, but my BLR 308 has little recoil and kills deer as well as my 30-06, 30-30, 7mag, 45-70, 44mag, 357mag, muzzleloader, shotgun, and bow

I've hunted with my 30-30 twice this past year for nostalgia. Aside from that, i've used my 308 exclusively over the past 4 years...that's how much I like it

The best all around would have to go to the 30-06. It is still the cartridge everyone else comparesother cartridges to, including the .308. You can load it up for big bear (I use 220gr) or down for varmints (I have used 55gr-125gr, but prefer 90gr).

How about the 6.5X55 swede. It can do just about anything that the bigger calibers can do. Ballistic charts dont show the guns true potential though, so you would want to read real life reviews on it. It is like a nice happy medium between the 243 and 270. Deer and yotes would be no problem for it.

I bought a life membership to the NRA over a month ago and still have not heard back from them. They where supposed to send me a welcome packet with a couple of free gifts, but that has not arrived yet either.
