Here's my graduation present to myself two years ago:D
Remington 700 VLS in .22-250 Leupold V-X-II 6-18x50 w/ 2.5" sunshade B-Square Roto-tilt Bipod Butler Creek Sling It shoots factory Remington 55 gr PSP @ 0.5 MOA with the factory trigger (slight adjustment). Someday I would like to build up some handloads and really sandbag it down to see its capabilities, but right for now it shoots better than I can, so I'm content with it. |

Thats a Savage 243 with a semi-heavy stainless fluted barrel. All I use it for is coyote busting, so I added some spray paint to it this summer, need to make it snow camo....

remington 700 SPS Varmint 22-250
Leupold VX-II 6-18x40 AOT Harris Bipod ![]() yes, i use that much sunshades...i think both add upto 6.5" in that particular spot, the sun goes down just off to the side of the holes and the shades really help...found out that past 250yds or so i need to prone out and not use the bipod(mine is too high for prone...gotta get another one i guess) bought the rifle as a project rifle and starter rig into longer range shooting...price was right and the rifle plain out SHOOTS. i love it....trigger is going to be first...then stock...then barrel....all in time as i get around to it...not rush for anything but the trigger...stock is alright but its kinda cheesy plastic...i know with the 22-250, i cant push the range TOO far because of the light bullets so the new stock and barrel will be more of a mobile, but accurate rig...then the next rifle will be a little larger in caliber and heavier and be my "reach out n touch" rifle...that is, if i settle down somewhere i can do any sort of long range hunting.... im already HOOKED... |
RE: Lets see your go to Predator/varmit gun.
I use a .454 caliber SamYang 909 air rifle. Right now I'm shooting 174grain slugs. Hoping the meplat is just big enough for a quick kill, while small enough not to hurt the fur to much.
