Mauser question

I have 2 sporterized Mausers...(7mm & 8mm) that I bought 3 years ago as a part of an 8 gun purchase that I couldn't pass up. Both are Brazilian made, and in excellent shape with new Bushnell scopes on them (mid line scopes, not expensive).

My question...is there any way to get a ballpark of what they are worth? I have decided that I just don't need them....and would rather use the money to buy some stuff that I do need.

I have NO idea what they are worth, or what is the best way to sell them - I'm not in the practice of selling guns. Honestly, I'd probably trade them in....but don't want to take a severe beating if I did.

Can anyone help or point me in the right direction? I can post pics later if needed....have to dig them up.

Thanks!
Mike

If you search a few gun auction websites, it will give you a general idea of their retail value. The straight sale price will be a little lower.

You'll need to know the actual model of Mauser that you have to get accurate info.

Another idea would be to convert these rifles into something youactually want or will use. Any good gunsmith can rework them into a semi-custom rifle for you.Add a new stock and barrel chambered in caliber you like.

RE: Mauser question

I was not aware that the Brazilian Mausers were made in Brazil. Rather, I thought they were made in Belgium of Germany and imported by Brazil.

As a general rule, "sporterized" Mausers which rertain the military stock in altered form are worth about what the barreled action would bring, since the "sporterizing" is often done "not too well." IF someone used a Brazilian Mauser action to make a custom rifle, then the equation changes.

These have the original actions and barrels....new stocks, and scopes. I certainly am not an expert in these guns...but to me the look to be done very nicely.

Oh, and you may be correct on imported to Brazil...I just know that when I got them, the research I did showed they were of Brazilian descent.I don't know squat about Mausers.

Here is the 8x57

Here is the 7x57

Can anyone give me a ballpark on what these might be worth? I just want to make sure I ask a fair price, but also that I don't give them away. Thanks...
