Browning BLR

Does anyone shoot a Browning BLR? Im intrigued about this gun and i would like to know some more about it. Ive heard that every once in a great while, the trigger will not work properly and will not drop the hammer. Is this true or does the gun not have this problem? Ive also heard that the trigger on these guns are very stiff. Is this true as well? Thanks.

Make sure you love the trigger, because almost no one will work on it. The one gunsmith that I knew worked on Browning BLR triggers recently passed away. Good luck.

I love mine, never had a problem with it and it will shoot a 1" group at 100 yards, mine is a 300WSM as well.

I have a really good review of mine I posted here a year ago.

Here is a link to my original review:

Had one in 308, liked it. No issues with trigger/hammer function. It was an early model though.

Thanks guys, i dont remember where i read the bad stuff on the BLR, but it sounds like a good solid gun.

I'm not sure where you heard of that supposed problem but I've shot a bunch of BLRs and still have a couple and have never even heard of any problem like that. The BLR triggers ARE a little more to rework than some other triggers but NO problem at all if you know what you're doing. IMO the BLR is the finest lever on the market today, usually very accurate (especially for a levergun) and very strong.

i think i read it on another forum and if i remember right, the trigger failed to work about once every 12 times whenever the action was worked.

I have a BLR in 308 Win. Great handling rifle, very acurate and have never had a problem with hammer falling accidentally.
