RE: Suggestions on a new rifle.
 

Weatherby Vanguard Sporter SS or the Ruger 77 Laminate Stainless is about the only ones chambered for 300 Win Mag in the under $800 price range. I have a Vanguard Sporter in 257 Weatherby that shoots awesome with factory loads and handloads. I did put in a Timney trigger and bed the action/free float barrel to get it too shoot great. It wasn't bad right out of the box.
