Small stature shooter gun?

What would be a good shotgun for a small statured woman? I was looking for somthing that would be a good waterfowl gun preferably a semi-auto 12. If anyone has any suggestions that would be great. I' ve been looking at a couple different ones but first hand knowledge is always best.

look at most youth shotguns. like the rem 1100 LT-20 rifled barrels.
of all my shoguns i have owned the rem 1100 has been one of the best shotguns i have owned.
i have also heard good things about the winchester ranger.

My wife has a Wichester Ranger Youth 20 ga. It' s a nice gun and one thing Winchester did that I haven' t seen on any other youth model is shorten the throw on the pump so a person with short arms can cycle it easier. I don' t think you' ll find a factory youth model in 12ga but good luck.

DG hit the nail on the head. I was thinking the same thing.I' ve had a Remington 1100 for close to 30 years and never had a bit of trouble from it.I don' t get to use it as often as I would like ,but I know it' s ready when I am.

Doesn' t cutting down the stock effect balance? I agree it' s probably the only way to get a 12ga for a smaller shooter, but don' t you then get into muzzle balance or buying a shorter barrel to compensate?

I doubt that cutting a 1/2' to a 1" off would affect the balance that much but if it did you could add weight or a weighted recoil pad . we are talking about a field gun and not a trapgun .

" one thing Winchester did that I haven' t seen on any other youth model is shorten the throw on the pump" Mossberg did the same thing on the Bantum. My wife has one in 20 ga. Good little gun.
