remington 30-06 7600 pump repair

my pump works really hard. I'm sure it needs a good cleaning. Anyone know how to get it taken apart?
What can I use to lube it once it's cleaned.
The problem gets worse the colder it gets

Thanks RR, I'm kinda following you. I know how to remove the trigger assy. I saw the holes in the barrel. I will play with it and see how it goes.

Any suggestions as to what kind of lube to use? For colder weather?

7600, 742, ect all are the same they hammer the bolt face with the extractor and bolt face on the barrel. If it has been shot alot go to a local gunsmith and have it refaced. If you can't find one e-mail me and I will find one in your area to have this done.

You totally lost me on this one. Are you refering to how it comes apart or are you telling me why it pumps hard?
I don't think there have been over that 200 rounds shot out of this gun since it was new.

ORIGINAL: Ridge Runner

remove forend bolt and forend, push out the 2 pins and remove hammer/trigger assembly.

the metal tube between the action rails is the barrel block nut, there is a hole in it, insert a punch or metal rod into the hole and turn counterclockwise to loosen, remove.
slide barrel out till it clears the threaded stud, rotate 90 degrees so the barrel block clears the rails.and lift out.
Now slide bolt/carrier assembly out the front, remove action rails.
if you have the sling mounted to the forend they are probably slightly bent making them bind while cycleing the action, if not possibly bowed out from use.

I can't get this to turn. I'm getting on it pretty good and am afraid I will snap off my punch.

I got the gun apart. Here's what I found. There is a rubber o-ring in the tube that I unthreaded. The o-ring is sticking inside the tube. I'm wondering if the o-ring is swelled or softened to make it sticky instead of sliding. Can I get a replacement o-ring? Also what type of lube is suggested for the o-ring?
