Cheap Slugs which Perform Well Out of a Rifled Barrel
 

I just got a new Mossberg 930. I'm looking for some 2 3/4" slugs which are in the $3 - $5 for 5 range which perform well from the 24" rifled barrel. Any ideas? What works for you? I hate to spend $15 a box for sabots.

I shoot Remington slugger 2-3/4 MAG. Not the MAX. There is a difference. The mags seem to group better for me and shoot flatter.

Brenneke short mag for $4.99. They shoot great out of all my shotgun. Their knock down power is great too.

Anyone try the Winchester 2 3/4" cheapo's from Wally World out of a rifled barrel?

They will work, you might get some leading of the rifling but they will work fine. As with any slug, there will be some that are more accurate than others out of your particular barrel.

I am still shooting the Remmingtom Sluggers out of my smooth slug barrel. It does everything I need it to out to 100 yards.

I used to shoot the Winchester XX slugs out of my Mossberg 500 with a cantilever rifled barrel. 2 inch groups at 80 yards.
