para ordinance commerative .45

I have an opportunity to get a para ordinance .45 either single stack or double stack for a good price. what I am asking is if this is a good gun. I have heard of them but don't know anything about the company or the quality. Also would I want a single or double stack. This would be a safe queen because I would like to pass it on to my son when he gets older. I just want the memories of the job since it is a commemorative.

thanks

Para Ordinance makes fine pistols. I have had one of their P14-45s for about 13 years and it has worn very well after thousands and thousands of rounds.

As for the single stack, double stack debate, that is really up to you. Each version has their proponents. The single stack has a slightly thinner grip profile, but the double stack is not too much by any means.

I have medium sized hands and my double stack P14 fits perfectly.

Heck yeah its a good gun. One of the best 1911's out there. Single or double, what ever your flavor. Youll save a few bucks on magazines with the single stack.

I've got two of the double stack P14-45's. One is an basic allow frame version, the other a stainless "Limited". Both have had thousands of rounds put through them in competition, and both have been very reliable. My only complaint has been that the mag release is made of polymer, and eventually wore out on one of them, so I replaced it with a stainless mag release on both.
