URGENT looking at o/u's
 

i want to buy a new o/u shotgun before thanksgiving because i am going rabbit hunting also i want to use it for bird hunting and for shooting sporting clays... this will be my first o/u shotgun (i already own a verona auto-loading 12ga for turkey hunting and i dont want to use this as my trap gun), i was wondering if anyone had a good gun in mind for less than $800. I have been looking at the mossberg reserve series 12ga. does anyone know if this is a good gun?

They appear to have significant reliability issues.

If I were you, I would pay the few extra hundred, and get yourself a browning. Browning ous are very light and I havent found anything except maybe benelli that can even be compared to them.

I would look for a used Citori or Red Label,as there isn't much in quality new o/u shotguns under $800.

Used Browning Citori. Dont screw with those Mossbergs or Huglus.

Take a look at a Stoger Condor.

Then put it back on the shelf and buy a Citori.

I just bought a Ruger Red Label 20 gauge with the 26" barrels and English stock....Sure is a good shooter, cost a lil more than your price range, but a good used one can be had for a touch more than 800.....

The cheapest "good" over under is the SKB 505 and it's about $1100.....and worth every nickel......don't buy cheap over/unders.....you just replace them later!
