Remington model 7

I'm thinking of getting a Remington Model 7 camo XCR in 308 Win.and was wondering how everyone likes there model 7's I think it would be a good gun to carry on the days I drive for deer

I think the remington model 7 is a nice 'little' rifle. Personally I like the Browning Micro Hunter a bit more. But I don't think you will have any problems either functionally or accuracy wise with the model 7.

I'm with bronko on liking the browning A-bolt/X-bolt more than the remington model 7. Nothing wrong with the model 7,just that I like the 3 locking lugs,60 degree bolt throw, tang safety, factory glass bedded, etc of the brownings better.

Id go with the Remington. although it only has two locking lugs and the greater degree of a bolt lift, that action has proven itself time and time again to accurate, reliable, and strong.

I have the Model 7 in .243 and you cant beat it. It handles great and isnt too small like a youth model.

I have a Model 7 CDL in 260 and really enjoy it, it's great in a tight shooters hut or treestand.

Remington Model 7 in a .243 has been my deer rifle of choice for the last ten years. I had the trigger turned down to just under 3 pounds and its the most accurate rifle I've ever owned. Tack driver, can't go wrong with it.

Sorry, never checked. The Federal BT load does 1"to1.5" out of it.Am going to try the Corbon TSX load soon, the Corbon load is shooting .5" out of my 700 CDL SF 260.

dadof3, have u ever had any problems with loading the 260 in that gun? i was curious if the long 6.5 bullets u are shooting ever were too long for the magazine or anything.

I've used Federal 140 SP, Federal 120 BT, Rem.120 Accu.tip, and Corbon 120 TSX. All factory loads up to this point with no problems.
