which o/u
I am an avid hunter who recetly decided to focus on deer and upland bird hunting. I have a Remington 870 combo for now but i am looking at buying an over/under for the upland hunting. Since i hunt a lot of public land the gun needs to be compatible with steel shot. i have a 1000 dollar budget. I know nothing about whos who in the double barrel world and would like anything you have to say on this subject.
Thanks, Billy |
RE: which o/u

RE: which o/u
Get a ruger red label-100% american made, typical ruger strength, lifetime warranty, quality, strong design/lockup. It's much better (IMO) than the imported guns you mentioned. Even if you have to save up a lil to get it-WELL worth it. I would've responded sooner had I visited site and saw your post.

RE: which o/u
I like the Ruger Red Label in 20ga, very nice gun. I also own a Stoeger 20ga that has held up well over the years. For hunting I am pretty sure that most any gun out there will hold up well. If you are looking for a very light gun look at Yildiz, they wont stand up to volume shooting, but they do well for hunting purposes.

dont buy the stoeger I owned one for about a month shot it a bunch of time then it started to have alot of problems try the remington or the ruger

RE: which o/u
None of the above. Stoeger is trash, Remington is Russian trash, CZ is Turkish trash. For $1,000 you can find a used Browning Citori 12. The 20's tend to go a little higher in the used market. That gun will last the rest of your life and your grandkids life. Im not much of a Ruger fan. Rugers close like the doors on a 1972 Chevy Impala, Citori's close like a BMW.
