Kahles scopes
I' m still undecided on a scope[:' (]Still shopping around and looking at every possible scope out there. Anyone have any good or bad experiences with the kahles? Looks like a nice scope...I know they were bought by Swaro. a while back, when I compared the 2 side by side, I liked the Kahles better. It' s adjusting ring was much smoother too. I haven' t really seen much talk about this brand on the threads.....any comments?

RE: Kahles scopes
a friend of mine has a 3x9 kahles scope and when he brought it out to the range and i compared it side by side to my 3x9 vx-ii leupold it seemd to have better optics. i doubt you would be dissapointed if you bought one. i suspect one of the reasons you don' t hear all that much about them is that in the north american market most people buy american names and the odd asian one. european scopes are almost always more expensive and if i may say so usually better quality then american or asian products.

RE: Kahles scopes
JD another reason you here less about Khales, is no transferable warranty. Which makes for lower resale. Lifetime warranty for original owner.
Not sure if that is a factor for your desicion, but may explain why less popular. Oh BTW, great signature....shall we call you " Doc Holiday" :D |
RE: Kahles scopes
Skeeter, that is a good point I didn' t even really consider. Looks like that one has been swiped off the list....I saw that Swaro' s have a working temp. of -20 deg. No good for Alberta weather. Schmidt & bender has 30mm dia tube (not what I want). Looks like I' m still torn between the Leupold and Conquest. This is a harder decision than I thought it would be. " Doc" ;)

RE: Kahles scopes
Stubble...not my opinion, just something I read on the swarovski pamphlet I got from them. I would hope they can perform through that kind of weather, but I' m leery if something goes wrong and they don' t fix it due to cold weather or something silly. I' m just a little scared I guess....Woods, i' m going after work to pick up my scope, I' m leaning towards the Zeiss but I might opt for the leupold. I' ll let you know Monday. THX![8D]

RE: Kahles scopes
JD-I would not worry about swarovski not honoring any warantee.I took a fall and badly dented the eyepeice on a swarovski a few years ago.I sent it out for repair expecting to be billed for the damages. To my surprise the scope was fixed for free and returned postage paid even though the damage was totally my fault.
