H&R 20 gauge ultra slug help
I have had trouble sighting in my 20 gauge ultra slug. I thought it was my original scope so I changed it out and I am shooting hornady SST's. I started at 25 yards, went to 50 yards and at 100 yards it is all over the paper. Do you guys think it is the hornadys? I have heard good and bad about them.

Some slugs shoot better then others even if it is the same shotgun. My H&R loves them SSTs.......You need to try different brands of slugs, sight in to be 2.5" high at 50 yards.....No matter what brand slugs you use, you shouldn't be allover the paper

bowhuntercop thanks for the reply. What kind of groups are you shooting at 100 yards? Am I correct at saying this gun should shoot 1-2 inch groups at 100 yards?

I don't own a USH but would love to have one. Make sure your mount and rings are tight. Other slugs you might give a try are the Lightfield Hybreds. Actually after I made sure all your optics are good and tight I'd go buy a box of every different sabot your local store sells. Set up your target at 25 yards and shoot for a group. Don't touch the scope. Once you find the sabot that shoots the best then zero your scope in. I have three different slug guns and they each shoot different slugs the best.

I also have the 20 USHD. Mine has been shooting the Hornadys well. Within at 2.5" or better at 100 yards. Try them, the copper solids and the Lightfield Hybreds. One of those, if not all, should work great for you. Pick something and stick with it.
