Need input on new Marlin 336 combo package
 

Dick's Sporting Goods has a sale going on Marlin 336 lever action rifles in 30-30with 3-9x scope for $299.00. I'm sure the scopes are crap, but I was wondering if the riflesare any good.

The Marlin 336 is basically an excellent rifle. IF those offered for $299.00 have walnut stocks, then they are worth the price, even w/o any scope. So yes, I'd bet those scopes ARE crap...

I'd say that's probably a good price. I looked today at Wally World and they had a 336 with sling and no scope for $374 I think

I think that's a pretty good price. I have a Marlin 336 in 35 Rem., which was made in the 1960's, and it's been an excellent gun!

Yep- that is a good price without a scope. Rifles have went up in recent years, and you can't go wrong with the .30 WCF in the proven Marlin action.

Great choice. The scope can always be used as a paperweight.
