300 Win mag ammo question

I have a TC Prohunter 300. I know its over kill for whitetails but I bought it anyways. I do need some opinions on ammo because I've never hunted with a caliber this big. Any suggestions?

What game do you plan to hunt? If you are going after those small whitetails that live in SC, I'd use a 150-grain load. Get some 150's and some 165's, and use the load that shoots best in your gun.

Eld,

For some reason I get terrible accuracy out of the 150's. Don't get me wrong it's still well within minute of deer but not as good as the 165-168 or the 180's.

I would suggest a non-premium bullet for the above. Core lock or power point etc...

I've successful taken any number of whitetail deer with standard core-lok soft 180 gr point bullets. You don't really need an accubond or partitioned bullet for a thinner hided / boned animal like whitetail. Save those for Elk or moose, if you ever hunt them.
