I LOVE the 308, it is very predictible and that is a big part of the reason so many use it as a sniper weapon. I mean the ballistics for anything you want to know is out there, and easy to find on the net. I have nothing against the '06- I have a pal who thinks they are the only thing anyone should have, but frankly, the 308 is my choice because of proven perfomance.

No, not by any means, the 06 is has proven itself a lot both on the battlefield and in the hunting fields. It is only my opinion, based on personal preference, that I endorse the 308 so Highly. Of course having been Marine Infantry, and seeing what a sniper, both military and having served as a Police chief, seeing what they could do with one, I simply think the 308, can do just about anything! Like I said, just me, I have friends that do outstanding with the 30-06, but I am convinced, while it cannot not do everything outstanding, the 308 can do anything. The predictibility of the round is what really sells me.
