Getting the lead out
I am having a hell of a time getting lead fouling out of my smooth bore slug barrel granted this barrel hasn't seen a slug in the last 20 years, but would any body suggest any tips for me?

I just wrap a full bore-size brass cleaning brush with medium-coursesteel wool, saturate it wih a boe cleaner known to remove metal fouling pretty well, and then merely scrub it out. Steel wool works alot faster than just a brass brush alone, yet will not harm a smooth shotgun bore........... |
RE: Getting the lead out
Have you been shooting sabot slugs in it?? If so, it may not be lead, but plastic residue from the sabots....???

RE: Getting the lead out
it's a smooth bore so I shoot rifled Foster style slugs.
