Rem. 750 Woodmaster

I am new to the forum, and was wondering about the 750 Woodmaster. I shot a 742 .308 LAst season and fell in love with the gun. I was just wondering how the 750 .308 is? I have had a hard time finding either rifle. Any input on this gun would be great.

They are good firearms. The older models tend to jam alot, but with propercleaning this can be fixed. I hunt with the 7400 .30-06 carbine. Love the shortness of this little gun with the larger .30 caliber. Overall the semi-auto line of Remington is decent in my opinion.

i have a 750 in 35 whelen carbine. it shoots as good as can be expected from a semi auto. functions clean w/ no issues. how ever there are horror stories out there about the 750 not cycling rounds from the magazine properly. quincidently they were all chambered in .308......??

I have the 750 in .308. As stated, it will not cycle properly even after a trip back to Remington and 3 different mags. It looks nice but, if I wanted a single shot, I would have purchased an Encore. On a side note, I have a Rem. 7400 in .30-06 that has never had a problem. I would say to look for another gun then get the 750 in .308!

My brother has the 750 in 270 Winchester, and really likes it. He says his has never jammed and gets decent accuracy for a hunting rifle. Maybe the 750's just don't handle the short action cartridges as well as the long action ones.

If you like the 750, take a look at the Browning BAR before you decide. The BAR costs a couple hundred more, but it's a very solid rifle with a great reputation for reliability in all the cartridges it's chambered for.
