Shotgun hits a little high
Hi all,
I recently got a brand new Winchester SX3, 26" 12 guage. I plan on using this for fall turkey season soon but it seems to hit a little high. It just has a single white bead in the front and with 3 1/2" turkey loads (I've tried 2 brands) I sit the bead right on top of therib and then place the target directly on top of the bead at 35 yards. The center of my pattern consistently is about 6" high from where I'm aiming. I've shot at 20 yards and the result is about the same. Outside of holding low, or putting a taller bead on the front does anyone have another suggestion? Thanks in advance. Tim |
RE: Shotgun hits a little high
You havefour options, first is to send it back to Winchester, second is to scope it, third is to bend the barrel, but that is best left to a pro especialy if it has a rib, last, find the distance that it shoots point of aim, point of impact and aim lower at closer distance!.

Use the shims that came with it to adjust your stock fit....we see it all the time.....should take care of the problem.

I think you should get a good torch and heat the crap out of the barrel and then bend it down in a u shape like you see on Buggs Bunny cartoons.:D

If you're just using it for turkeys, put the aftermarket sights that mount on the rib.
