RE: 35 Remington anyone?
My first deer rifle was a Marlin M 336 in 35rem, got it when I was twelve, shot my first deer with it when I was fourteen and have taken many with it since. This rifle also started a many of young hunters also in taking their first deer. It mostly stays in the safe now days, Im forty five now, I pulled it out of the safe last year, loaded up some ammo for it, checked the scope, then was lucky enough to shoot a big doe the first morning I took it out. Afterwards, I gave it a good cleanning and put it back in its spot in the safe, I think this year, I might do the same with my fathers old Marlin M 336 in 30-30, its been about twenty years since its seen any action. I havent tried any of the lever evelution ammo yet, I guess I would if I used them more.

I have a Marlin 336 in 30-30 that I killed my first five deer with. I shoot the Leverevolution ammo as well, 1 1/2'' at 100 yards. One day I hope my kids will take there first deer with it.

RE: 35 Remington anyone?
I have two 35rem's an old Model #14 and a 336D. The Marlin gets hand loaded 200gr CLRN bullets thathave a MV of2200fps and are still 10% lower pressure levels than the 30-30win.
I haven't tried the LE ammo yet but you can see why, I hand load. |
RE: 35 Remington anyone?
Mine is a pistol, lone Eagle. Very accurate. Hornady 180 gr SSPB is what I shoot in it. Two years ago I took my first handgun deer with it. It is a great deer killer.

Yeap got the 336 in 35 Rem I love that gun. Its probably one of the most accurate guns I own out to 200 yards. WOuldn't hesitate for a second to grab it to go elk hunting.

I too have a .35 Remington I shoot Federal Premium 165s through it, I do have a box of the Leverevelution in 165s and notice they hit more to the right but are dead on up and down. Other than that I love the old 760 35

RE: 35 Remington anyone?
Great post, as I just was admiring my Marlin 336C in .35 Remington last night.
I noticed I was low on ammo, usually shot 200gr. Core-Lokt, but just this afternoon I took a trip to Gander Mountain and picked up some Lever Evolution in 200gr. They look nice, I plan on shooting them sometime next week. My .35 was my first deer gun as well. Bought it off of my neighbor when I was 14, so over 8 years ago. I have taken many deer with that gun. I have many other guns now, so it doesn't get as much attention as it should. It is always great to take it out for a hunt, and I'm thinking I will like this LE ammo, and hunt with it more this upcomming season. Good post, even better gun. :D |
RE: 35 Remington anyone?
I took mine out when I sighted in my new KRB. It was dead on and 1 1/2" groups at 75 with out a sand bag. The Leverrev ammo is great.

RE: 35 Remington anyone?
I have had a 336-35 Rem for 10 years now. It is my go to rifle. After 9 years of hunting with it I broke the whole gun down last year and refinished the stock so it looks brand new again. I have a Bushnell Legend 2x7 riding on top. I am getting a 1.25-1.50 group at 100 yards. With LR-200 gr I would not hesitate to take a 200 yard shot.
