6.5x55 Swede
I have a 1909 Swede in wonderful shape, that shoots like a house a fire with hand load 140 grainers. I really love this caliber and the bullet length is like shooting a drill rod, these babies are hard to stop. My problem is I want a rifle in this caliber that is a bit easier to carry. This honey has a 29 inch tube, full stock and weighs over 9lbs. Should I sacrfice a great battle rifle for a custom sporter or try and find a current rifle in this caliber (not aware of any)?

Check out gunbroker, there is a couple already sportized that look pretty nice. Sako, CZ, and Tikka all have current models in this cal.

I think the CZ 550 FS is a beauty gun, and it's chambered in 6.5x55.
Ouch Rebel, $44 a box? I got a box for free from a guy I "saved" (he almost died, the arrow was about an inch away from an artery), and it was priced at $22 a box. |

That 6.5 stuff is next to impossible to find here. My old 96 absolutely loves the 140 Feds.
