What 223 rifle??!!...
I posted a bit ago trying to decide between a 223 and a 22-250....the result being the 223 (again, thanks for the help!!).
Now I just don't know what one to get. I am a big model 700 Remington fan and I dig wood stocks (I know you lose some accuracy and durability). I still can't figure out why the Remington CDL 223 on comes left handed??!! Anyhow, considering I would prefer a wood/laminated stock, any recommendations? Remington has a model 700 VLS, nice stock but a bit heavy for my purposes I believe. Thanks for the help gentleman and as always, greatly appreciated!!! |

I had a hard time following your post. "I still can't figure out why the Remington CDL 223 on comes left handed??!!" Are you left-handed? If not, You could buy a rifle such as the stevens model 200 or a howa 1500 and replace the stock. Boyd's laminated stocks are nice. I've used them on a couple semi-customs and a savage

Sorry about that...should have proof read my post a bit more.
I like the CDL model of Remington, I am right handed but they only make the CDL 223 for lefties. Thanks for the reply. |

You shoud check out the CZ's. Here's the link. I've got a CZ 453 22LR and the single set trigger, which also comes on there smallbore centerfires, is absolutely excellent.

why dont you look at the Remington 7615 Ranch Carbine? Its a Remington, has wood stocks, supposedly has the accuracy of a bolt action, its a .223, and it looks cool as all get out.

RE: What 223 rifle??!!...
While I do love my M700s, I've been very impressed with the CZ527 Varmint Laminated .223 that I picked up over the winter. I also have a CZ550 Varmint Laminated in .22-250, whichhas turned out to be a sub-MOA rifle.
Still playing with various reloads to find its "sweet spot", but out-of-the-box accuracy with factory ammo was more than enough to justify my keeping it. My only complaint is the single-stack detachablemagazine being a bit stiff to load at first, but it's since loosened up. I think I have about $1000 into the rifle, the optics (Burris 4.5-14x) and rings. CZ has some different stock options than laminated and lighter-contoured barrels. As light as the CZ527 VL is, I can't imagine how much lighter the CZ527 American might be? |

There are tons of RH-wood stocked 223's out there. Below is a picture of one. And take a look at the Encore's. Tom.

Imgoing to have to put in a vote for the CZ also. I have a 527 Amreican in 204 Ruger. That gun is the best. It is one of my few guns ill never get rid of. It is extremely accurate right out of the box.
