Winchester model 770

i was just wondering if anyone knows anything about these guns. what they are worth? what is the differance between the model 770 and the model 70? my dad has one that he bought in 1969 or 1970. it has a4x Redfield scope (not sure of the specific model)that he put on it when he bought the gun. i know for a fact it have not been fired in the last 30 years or so. just knid of interested to see if anyone knows anything about it. thanks

As I recall they are a push feed gun not CRF and might be the budget version of the Model 70. Not sure if it had a floorplate or not. I believe they had a hardwood stock and not walnut.Maybe someone else has more experience with it. SHould be a good hunting rifle.

The only M770 I know of is made by Remington and is the upgraded M710.

My cousin has a Win 770 in 30-06. I believe OEH is correct in that it is an economy version of the Model 70. I know the one my cousin has is a real shooter and he has it for what seems like forever.
