7mm mag

RE: 7mm mag
Been shooting and reloading for my 7 mm mag for almost 25 years. Love it. I also have 7 other deer rifle cal. that I load for also but for some reason each season I reach for the ol'faithful. I guess some habits die hard. I will use one of the others for second deer tag but after shouldering my Savage 110 for so many years it just seems as an extension to myself.

I bought my first7mm in 1977 at the age of eighteen. It wasa Remington 700 BDL that someone bought, shot once and didn't like the kick.I picked it up for $175.00 and shot it until I bought a new Remington 700SSalso in 7mm in 1999. Overkill for deer? yes but I love shooting it. I still have both but switched over to bow hunting in 2000 and haven't shot it to much lately. Great cartridge! Ken

7mm Rem Mag is my all around favorite big game cartridge. I find the recoil to be minimal at best (and I don't like hard kicking rifles). If I could afford to I'd shoot mine all day shooting P-Dogs. But those days are gone now with the costs of reloading supplies.
My 7mm Rem is a Browning A-Bolt Stalker, and it is also the most accurate out of the box rifle I own. It will put 3 shots under .5MOA at 100 yards, and it will do that at 300 yards for me on a good day as well. It does open up to about 1.5" on a bad day at 300 yards.

I like the 7mmremmag,but after owning two Weathery Mark V rifles,I will never own another. My remington 700s that cost half as much were more accurate than my Mark Vs.
