Howa?
 
Like the looks and feel of this gun, but know very little about them. Howa Hogue 1500 series in .270.

anyone care to shed some light on these guns?

Howa manufactures the Vanguard series of rifles for Weatherby and I believe the Howa 1500 is almost exactly the same as the Vanguard except that it does not come in Weatherby magnum chamberings. They are excellent well made rifles. You could pay hundreds of dollars more and still not do nearly as well as you will with a Howa or Weatherby Vanguard.
