Ruger Frontier in .300 WSM.

I purchased a Ruger Frontier rifle in .300 WSM. a while back and I am looking forward to shooting it soon. Has anyone been hunting with a frontier in .300 WSM. and if so, how do you like it? Hope to hear from you soon.

RE: Ruger Frontier in .300 WSM.

ive hunted deer with a 308 Frontier rifle. I have to say that the whole scout rifle concept that colonel jeff cooper came up with is right on. It is one slick set up. I like the handiness of the rifle.

But even with my 308, the muzzle blast was awful. when ur hunting you wont notice it at all. its when ur practicing that will get ya. Id imagine that 300 WSM would be even worse, but until i shoot one i wont be for sure. You will lose a lot of velocity i think. in my 308 i was shooting a 150 grain bullet at 2660fps. it was a pretty good load.

wjyarkiell, thanks for the response. I also feel that the "scout" rifle idea is awesome and very handy. The reason that I bought the Frontier in .300 WSM was because ruger stopped making it after that one year of production. I searched for almost a year to find a new one. I am not sure how many were made, but by the lack of responses from people who own one, I don't think there are very many of them out there and theFrontiers chambered in 325 WSM are even harder to come by.
