Sako M995 TRG-S
So what can you guys tell me about the M995? Are they good or bad compared to the new 75/85's? I found one in .270 Win for a decent price (I think) and it should make for a good deer rifle. I was drawn for a late season mule deer hunt and even though I have a couple rifles to use, it makes for a good excuse to get another.:D

RE: Sako M995 TRG-S
Jeepkid, I had two trg-s M995s. One was a 25-06, the other a 30-06. I still have the 06. It is one of the few guns that I will never part with. It consistently shoots 3-shot groups that I can completely cover with a dime. My only complaint is that it is a bit heavy to use as a walk-around gun. I traded the 25-06several years ago for another Sako in 222 and have been kicking my backside ever since. Can't tell you how many times I've wished I wouldn't have traded. I never shot it, but I assume it would has shotjust as well as the 06.
I haven't shot the new 75/85s yet, so can't make the comparison. In my opinion, you can't go wrong with the trg-s. |
RE: Sako M995 TRG-S
Thanks for the reply. Do you happen to know the weight of it?
Does any one else have any experience with them? I also really like the 75/85 Finnlight... |
RE: Sako M995 TRG-S
I have 2 TRG-S rifles one in 7MM STW the other in 270 both will shoot an honest 3/4" 3-shot groups all day long they weigh around 8 1/2 pounds after all they are SAKO'S so they have to shoot by the way I have 4 other Sako rifles they all shoot excellent I hope this helps Chad
