Trigger weight
Got a new remington and wanted to free up the trigger a little. What weight would you recoment I start at? It is primarly a hunting gun with some trips to the range here and there.
Thanks for any input. |
RE: Trigger weight
My hunting rifles are set at 3 1/2 lbs,and my bench rifles are 1 3/4,,,,,thats just my preference.I wouldnt go under 3 lbs for a hunting rifle, and even thats a little light.

RE: Trigger weight
Three pounds is about right for a hunting gun that will see use with gloves and maybe cold not so sensitive fingers. Some guys use less and have no troubles if you keep in mind the light trigger and don' t put your finger on it till your really ready to actually shoot.3# beats the heck out of the 5-9# lawyer triggers out there in a lot of guns from the factory now.

RE: Trigger weight
My hunting rifles are all set at 3.5 lbs. But I had a gunsmith do all of that for me.

3 lbs. Good luck.

RE: Trigger weight
3 1/4 pounds was as low as my gun smith would go. It feels great and shoots great compared to the 8 3/4 pound trigger I had before!
I think with these " lawyer triggers" you could beat your gun against a wall all day without the thing going off! As I said in an earlier post, lowering the trigger weight is the best money I have ever spent on a gun! |
RE: Trigger weight
I have two Remington Model 700' s and they are both set at 3 lbs, nice and crisp!
