Walther P22

What do you guys think of this little gun?I read the reviews and they all seem to point to a good little gun.I have a chance to pick one up for $250 used.Owner said he has put 30 rnds down the tube.Is that to much?

I paid 299.00 for mine brand new.
I like it, it's not a hunting .22 but I like its small frame and I can carry it in my back pocket just about anywhere.
What do you want to do with it ? A browning or ruger would be beter for hunting simply because of the longer barrell.
As far as looks its hard to beat the p-22 that thing is cool looking, small and very accurate for its size.

I was looking at buying onea few years ago and changed my mind. They are cool looking. But I went on line and saw a lot of posts about problems. I don't remember specifically what the problems were.

I read some issues as well but they were on the older p22's. and that was after 10,000 rounds. Some of the barrels came loose and some slide wear.

Yeah most of the things i read on them now are about the older/first models that came out. They have been redesigned to do away with all the problems they were having.I'd mostly just use it for target practice and plinking or carry it on my ATV while im rideing.Maybetake it squrril hunting once or twice.

Maybe I'll have to revisit this. They are cool looking and I am a fan of 22 handguns. They're cheap and funto shoot. You can blow through hundreds of rounds and not have to worry about cost.

But I will buy new because of the apparent problems with the older models.

I also looked at the CZ 22 cadet. A much more substantial handgun but a little big for my small hands. An all steel gun with CZ quality.

I just bought one yesterday. It's compact and if you want you can add a 5" barrel. It has a slide on the front end for a laser. I have to say the trigger has alot of poundage. A 2 trigger would be nice. I'm using mine primary for animals in traps or scouting in the woods.

I was at the gun shop this morning(A new Springfield XD 40 S&W followed me home) and they had a used one in new condition for $200 and a new one for $280. They are very nice guns. I just dont have a need for one.
