What's this gun worth?
 

Asking for a buddy as he wanted me to try and find out. I checked out Gunbroker.com and it seems prices are all over the board. Anyway it's a Howa Model 1500 7mm Rem Mag. That's what it says on it. I've never heard of this brand however it looks fairly nice. It says made in Japan and imported by Interarms Alexandria, VA.

It has a Vanguard 3x9x50 scope on it model number VRS-531E. This scope had a big made in China sticker on it and looked cheap to me but I don't know much about it.

Any ideas on what this thing is worth? I'd say condition is 80-90%. It has a few knicks and scratches and one decent sized knick but honestly for a used gun it looks to be in good shape.

The guy is thinking of trading a semi auto 10 gauge shotgun I think Ithica he thinks is worth $700 or so. Is this a good deal? Any ideas on what this gun or scope or both is worth?

Blue Book on the Howa 1500 rifle is about $400. The scope is an "off-brand" and personally I would not give it much value at all. Maybe $50 used , if not buggered up. The Ithaca 10ga. autoloader, if in good shape, is Blue Book for about $600+/-.

I forgot to mention it does have a muzzle break on it. Is that a good thing? Does that hurt or increase the value? Or leave it the same?

depends on what your shotgun is worth condtion of both and wether you want a 10 ga more or the rifle

Anyone know what a Ithica 10 gauge shotgun is worth? Would it be a fair trade to trade these evenly? The guy that has the 10 gauge thinks he will use the 7mm a lot more so that's why he is thinking of trading but was wondering what his 10 gauge was worth too.

Looks like the shotgun is worth about $200.00 more than the Howa.

I believe that he would be gettin the better of the deal, if a 10 gauge is what he wants. I used the Ithaca before and was a pleasure to shoot in the rice fields. If it where me and the condition on the ithaca was good I would jump on it like a duck on a June bug
