when was it made
 

I got a old marlin 30-30 that was my grandpasi know he bought it in either late 60's or early 70's is there any way of telling exactaly when he bought it. no one in my family knows when and he passed in 1975

please post a pic and/or the serial # (close, not exact, example - if the serial number were actually 1,234,567, you could post 1,234,XXX, or if it were 456,789 you could post 456,XXX) and any other markings on the gun you can mention.

its a glenfield model 30a serial number is 26046xxx it has deer engravings on the stock

.............Look again and see if there is a letter prefix in front of the actual number......such as AD 26046XXX...???

THANKS FOR THE INFO 8MM/06!! i finally got my family to really think not telling them the year u said and they said either 73 or 74 so u was right.
