never had any problem with the torx screws or wrenches, breaking a torx wrench they supply you by hand sounds like a feat.

Either defective from the start, or using way too much force.

'Tis easy to snap the cheap little things, but maybe not for women and children.......

ive neither stripped nor broken a torx head wrench or bit, but i sure have stripped the heck out of a lot of allen wrenches and allen bolt heads. I'll take torx any day of the week over allen.

Just make sure that you loosen them 1/4 turn at a time in an 'X' pattern and that won't happen again.

Im a rather large man and have always been taught to be sure things were tight but my goodness. The boys over at sportsmans probaly had it tight, but then it sat, was used in the rain and snow a few times, so it was really setup in there.

After i got the 1st side drilled out the other one came out so easy and the other half of the other came right out.

After talking with Leupold, I got some more info on playing with the scope. Getting perfect optical center, ect. They said these new rings you dont have to wrench em on that tight. Just get em snug with one finger on the wrenchand you should be good to go. Im going to take his advice on this one.

Great customer service, has definatly made me a Leupold fan for life. I will be buying a VXII in the near future when i get my tikka.

If you know of someone with a torque wrench that measures in inch pounds use it and torque them to 20 inch pounds. You will be surprised how little force that really is but they will hold your scope.

How do you loosen the screws in an "X" pattern when there is only one screw per side of a ring? ;)
