Mossberg 835 or Remington 870?
 

I' m trying to decide between the Mossberg 835 Turkey Ulti-Mag in 3 1/2 inch mags and the Remington 870 Turkey Express in 3 1/2 inch mags. What kind of experiences have any of you had with these two and which do you think is a better Turkey gun?

[8D] There is no choice....870 all the way....i' ve owned a Remington 870 pump gun since the early 60' s & it still works as good as the day I bought it....I used it for duck, turkey, deer & just out f' ing around with the boys in my younger days and now I just use it for deer (with rifled slug barrel) and turkey!!!!!!! Two years ago I bought a REm 870 SPT SUPER MAG for turkey hunting. I love it!:D

I have the 870 Super Mag and it works great. It is one of 3 870' s that I own, with the 870 slug gun and 870 LC Wingmaster. Just like the feel of them.

I gotta agree with the majority here.... REMINGTON ALL THE WAY!!!!! :D I have a lefty version Remington 870 Express Mag 12GA. It has NEVER failed, jammed, or just " acted funny" in any way. It does everything for me - ducks/geese/turkeys/etc... I don' t have a deer barrel for it though, as I use my PSE bow for deer hunting.

Get the 870. Believe me, you won' t be sorry!

That is easy 870. I use to have a mossberg and it was a world of hurt. Can' t even compare the 870 and moss in the same sentence.

Not much of a choice here. Remington 870 all the way.Mossbergs are alright but can' t compare to the time tested and proven 870.

We have both. I much prefer the 870, but in all fairness the 835 (which I bought in a weak moment) has been perfectly reliable and patterns fine. It is just that it feels like a log in my hands. She uses it and likes it because she shoots turkeys with it, otherwise I would sell it.

Im fifteen and bought my 870 two years ago. It is the best thing i have ever done. I have to barrels for it a bird barrel and a slug barrel. I have taken 2 deer and 6 phesants. I havent gotten a turkey with it but then again i never saw a turkey turkey hunting. It has an awesome pattern-Im a monster at trap shooting. I used to hunt with a mosseberg 500 and this is way better. Go with the 870
