Information Needed For Remington Shotgun
I have my Grandfathers old Remington I believe
it is a Model 11 and it is called The Sportsman in 12 gauge. It is an automatic made on the Browning A5 patent and when it goes off the barrel come back to eject the shell. Its about 70 years old but has jammed recently and I need a manual that shows how to break it down and take it apart for cleaning.Just wondering if there is some place I can get a owners manual that shows how to break it down and clean it very throughly.Still love this old gun and want to shoot some squirrels with my boy for reliving the experiences I had with my granddaddy with this fine old gun.All suggestions appreciated. RE: Information Needed For Remington Shotgun
If you can't find a copy of the original, use one from a Browning A-5, same gun. I had a model 11 for many years. It was very reliable. Thereare a couple of friction rings, (one bronze with a steel collar, and one steel ring, beveled on one side and flat on the other)on the magazine tube which must be configured properly for the loads you're using. If it's set up for magnum loads, it may not work for lighter game loads.

You can call Remington and request an owners manual. I dont believe there is any cost for this service. You can also do it online at the Remington website.

I might have something for you.I don't see the Remington 11 listed but this guys says get in touch with him for a manual not listed.

RE: Information Needed For Remington Shotgun
I went back to the site and he says if you have one not listed he would like to borrow the manual. Who knows he might have one for the Rem 11 and not updated his site. It doesn't hurt to ask.Sorry for the misinformation.

Here is a link showing how to disassemble a Browning Auto-5(same gun as the model 11) http://www.midwestgunworks.com/field_service_manual/browning_auto_5_field_service_manual.pdf
Congrats on the new (to you) gun and enjoy it! |
