Best .223 semiauto

What is the best .223 semiauto, taking it a little easy on cost?

I would have to go with a AR15. The sky is really the limit when your talking about price with them but you can put one together if you are really carefull for around 550-600 dollars. The really nice thing about the AR15s is that you can keep adding to it down the line and make it into several different guns. Get a good forged lower, you can get one complete for about $200 bucks. Then either get one of the kits to put together a upper or find a bargin priced upper for 300 bucks or so, then down the line get a nice high dollar upper for targets and get yourself a 50 boewolf or 458 socom upper for big game hunting. then you would have 3 different very high quality rifles all working off the same basic lower. This is a pic of my little gem. Its a DPMS Panther 24" super bull, they run new around 900-1000 but are well worth the price. Mine is the most accurate rifle I have ever shot.

I don' t have any experience with anything other than AR' s and you can' t go wrong with them.

Personally I find paramilitary weapons fun on the range but " goofy" for hunting. Does any company make a fine sporting 223 auto on fine walnut? Older Browning BAR' s maybe? I wish someone would make the looks of 223' s more admirable for general purposes.

the AR-15 cn do it all like josh said....there was an article in shotgun news last month or the month before about it....everything from tactical machines to the finest long range rifles out there....holding groups tighter than most bolt guns...my dad got into building them.....instead of swithing everything on the same lower he just decided hey since i made my gun a shortie i will make this on a full size...and just keeps going....would be cheaper to switch but alot easier to just pull a gun out of a case and shoot...i dont think id like wood on an AR...just wouldnt seem right to me...ive seen some really neat paint jobs and some of the dipping places could make one look pretty nice...but wood on an AR just doesnt seem right to me....i can bet someone makes them though....just seems like someone would thought of it already........
