.22 question

I am looking to buy a cheap NEW .22 for shooting gophers/racoons with and for some casual target shooting. Anybody got any recommendations? I have had one since I was 10, but just getting old and am in need of a new one. [/align]

Ruger 10/22 or any Marlin. Savage deserves a look-see too.

Look at Marlin or Savage, The Ruger 10/22 is nice but but its not cheap.

I like the Marlin's myself. Marlin makes more .22's than anybody else in the world.
