Savage 270 bolt action for deer

I have bin in the market for a new deer gun and was looking at the Savage Model 11FXP3 the 270 caliber and was wondering about what people think of this gun.

If you are looking at the 270 caliber then it should be the 111FXP3, and I would say that it is a nice rifle, although it could come with a much nicer scope. I have several Savage rifles, and they all preform admirably. For the money you get a nice looking rifle, and great accuracy....what's not to like? :D

Only thing I reccomend is to remove POS and install a good scope on it. You can get a weaver or nikon for less than 150$.

Save yourself a little coin, just buy the rifle not the package, then get yourself something better than a Simmons scope. On the low end a Bushnell Banner or Trophy for under a $100, moving up Nikon prostaff or such for around $150. Buy the best glass you can afford, that being said unless you need the gun right away I would suggest saving a little to buy higher quality glass and you won't be sorry.

It will be a great rifle for deer hunting and just about anything else in NA that doesn't bite back, but takethe advice of the other guys buy the rifle not the package and get a better scope.
