laser/light on ar

anybody ever put a laser/light combo on their AR forarm? i was thinking of doing the "pistol" version because it's more cost effective compared to seperate components. do you think it would hold up? I think it would take less of a beating on an AR then it would on say a .45.

RE: laser/light on ar

Hada crimson trace laser grip on my Ar. The model that replaces the grip and attaches to the carry handle. It worked great like all the crimson trace products I've used. They are spendy though. I sold it to a buddy since I mounted a reflex sight on the rail on my upper handguard, so it was co-witnessed with the iron sights, andwhen I did this the sight protuded far enough to get in the way of the laser grips beam. Like every other gun product, you usually get what you pay for, the cheasy $30 lasers don't hold up to real world use.
