Value? Need help 243 Youth Remington
 

can anyone offer a good indication as to the value of a used 243 remington 700 ADL youth gun, blk syn stock and blk barrel? The gun is used but in nice shape, showing minor but some use from hunting. It comes with a simmons scope, but unfortunately, it is unclear as to which simmons model. I am told it was $200 new, but I think it is safer to assume it was closer to $150. It is a nice shooter and is coming from someone I know, so it is a good gun, but I've been asked to make an offer. He has given me no guidance on price, though I know he wants top dollar...doesn't everyone.

I do own a high quality scope that I could put on a new youth gun, so that's my alternative, but the scope is really more valuable ($400 new)than I prefer for a youth gun/guest gun but depending on how much this used one goes for, I could buy new and mount this scope. Or, I'd save this good scope for another rifle down the road, something nicer.

Im not to sure I would want the Simmons scope, but if it shoots ok, then make him an offer. If he wants to much, go get a new one with a better scope and make him jealous!

the price above is less than i expected for a new one. Bass Pro is $529. Where is this gun offered and...one thing the description does not say is that it is tapped/drilled for mounting a scope. Do they all come ready for scopes? i would think so but am surprised it doesn't say so, as some of their other models state.

still seeking more input on value too. Based on the above, perhaps used with the scope, rings at $325 or is that too low?
