Just ordered B&C Medalist, WDYT?
I just bought a Weatherby-Style Bell & Carlson Medalist Stock for one of my Remington 700's. I've heard and read many things about Bell & Carlson, but I was hoping that some of you might have some experience with a medalist stock and could give me some feedback (good, bad, or otherwise).
What are your experiences with the B&C Meadlist? What are your opinions on the medalist? Any word of mouth that you over heard? Any and all information is greatly appreciated, please tell me What Do You Think? :) |
RE: Just ordered B&C Medalist, WDYT?
By Weatherby stock you mean the "pimp stock"? I have had a grand total of one medalist..I think it is a very good stock and abetter design then the H&S precision. It doesn't require glass bedding if you are willing to torque the action screwsdown correctly. If not just skim bed it and tighten it normally. I had a custom 700 barrelled action laying around that I threw in one and it shot lights out with it and is very accurate. I would use a 700 design stock for a 700 action and see no benefit to the Weatherby stock design. If it has one flaw it is the weight , they are a little heavier then most.

RE: Just ordered B&C Medalist, WDYT?
im 6'7' and so the weatherby fits me better. When I shoulder the weatherby style, the line of sight down the barrel is higher because the shoulder pad is lower, so it fits a LOT better on me and i dont have to scrunch down low to get a good line of sight. As far as looks go, i dont prefer the looks of the weatherby, but it the design better suits my stature/build and therefore the stock functions better for me. Not sure what the "PimpStock" is, what does that mean? This is pretty much exactly what i will have, except with a 14.5 LOP. Thank you for your reply, your goood results are promising for me.
